GHBA Membership Spotlight

“Happy #MembershipMonday Spotlight to Sherry Pruitt. Sherry Pruitt, founder, and owner of Whodid It Designs and Remodeling, located in Sugar Land, has been a member of GHBA since 2014. She has held numerous positions within the association including the 2019 RMC president. She is currently the 2023 PWB vice president and is in line to be the 2024 PWB president. She has also been a board member on the Remodelers Council where she held the position as Chairperson of the annual charity project for four years.

Sherry is passionate about honing her skills as a designer to ensure she stays current within the industry to meet the demands of her clients. She also realizes the value of continuing education. “Doing the work to acquire the valuable NAHB certifications helps to set yourself apart,” she said. “When I need to look for solutions and ideas for my business development, I am blessed to be able to go to fellow remodelers when needing advice, and to take classes offered at the GHBA to further my knowledge.” Within her first year as a GHBA member Sherry acquired her CGR and CAPS designations.  In addition to the GHBA and the RMC, Sherry is also affiliated with the NAHB and TAB.  Sherry was named the 2019 GHBA Remodeler of the Year. The NAHB also named her the 2019 NAHB September Remodeler of the Month. Sherry was honored to receive several GHBA Presidential Citation Awards.

She was introduced to the construction industry at an early age. Age 5 to be exact! Sherry along- side her father whose favorite saying to her was “how do you know you can’t do it if you haven’t tried”. “It’s really in my blood,” she said. “He included me on his projects, and taught me not just about construction, but to not be afraid to tackle your dreams.  I love what I do and have been blessed to always be involved in construction – Houston’s PSI organization, helping with Habitat Houses, building churches in other countries, Africa, Honduras, Mexico, Haiti, and owner rep for building my home church in Sugar Land.”
